Happy Birthday Mum.
As time goes on I fear im 'forgetting' who you were before the dreaded Alzheimer's chose you as its next victim. Although you have only been officially diagnosed for 2 years, i believe you began to show signs at least 2-4 years before, now we know more about what Alzheimer's is.
We have not had enough time at the young age we are to do things we are supposed to do as mother and daughter - Alzheimers stole that from us.
Im sorry for all those times I got angry/annoyed/embaressed about your actions, if only I knew back then and we could have done more to help you out. I hope you weren't scared going through this alone, not knowing how to explain what was going on?
Today I am happy to hear that YOU KNEW it was your birthday :) these are the things that make us happy nowadays.
Happy Birthday mum, I promise to look after you, we all do <3 I think this is the greatest present you would have hoped for, to have a family who want to protect you and keep you safe and happy and we learned from the best - YOU.
I promise to continue to fight for better awareness and help so that hopefully we will have a day where no-one has to go through what you have been through.
Your fight will not go unnoticed xxxx
