Imagine being told you have an illness and there is nothing that can be done to cure that illness, this is what happens when some is diagnosed with Alzheimers disease.
My mum very rarely talks about her Alzheimers, but recently she opened up.
She was talking about how no-one understands, and she's right. None of us around her can begin to understand how she is feeling. The one thing she said that stood out to me was -
"If I had a broken leg, there would be stages on how to fix this, there is nothing like that for Alzheimers"
Thats horrible to hear someone know that there is nothing yet to cure this disease. If we can't give her any hope, then how is she supposed to try fight this herself?
Short and to the point tonight!
