'She shouldnt be left on her own you know'

This statement enfuriates me!!!!

As a family we have experienced too many 'officials' (not all may i add) who are dealing with us as a family telling us mum shouldnt really be left on her own!

Where do I start?

As my mum is only 57, this means she has a husband who is still in full time work and her 4 children are all in full time work! There is no-one obvious who can be around 24/7, yet all the experts are telling us she cant be left alone!

Well how about you help us with coming up with a solution to the problem? Why just becuase of her age, we should just accept that there isnt as much help there as opposed to if she was over 65?

Yes we all do our bit, but our jobs sometimes may not let us be as flexable as we would wish!

Its not so much about what mum can and cant do - its also about the company! No-one would enjoy being on their own more so than not? Let alone someone with alzheimers where we should be trying to stimulate the brain?

I just cant understand how someone who has worked all their life, in the care industry aswell, and through no fault of her own is unable to work, but not given any other alternatives to help her still live a life!

Early Onset Alzheimers exists! Resources need to be put into place to help people and their families continue to live a 'normal' life as much as possible!

I sometimes feel like when you get a diagnosis of Early Onset Alzheimers, you are ledt to your own devices and supposed to become and expert in all that comes with it!

I understand other people may have experienced differently, this is just how i feel and im pretty sure my family is feeling at this moment in time!
